The Ray Center at Drake University to acquire license for Josephson Exemplary Policing

Drake

The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center at Drake University and The Joseph and Edna Josephson Institute of Ethics announced today that Drake University has acquired the exclusive global rights to the Josephson Exemplary Policing Initiative.

This is the third Josephson Institute program in which The Ray Center at Drake has received exclusive rights. The Ray Center previously attained the global rights for the CHARACTER COUNTS! and Pursuing Victory With Honor programs.

The Josephson Exemplary Policing Initiative was founded by CHARACTER COUNTS! founder Michael Josephson. The program provides policing agencies with practical strategies to strengthen institutional effectiveness and credibility. Additionally, it provides policing leaders with professional development based on the Six Pillars of Character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship).

“The Ray Center at Drake University exceeded my expectations after acquiring the rights to CHARACTER COUNTS! and Pursuing Victory With Honor,” said Josephson. “I believe they will find the same success as they take the lead in advancing the Josephson Exemplary Policing Initiative.”

“Ensuring the leaders and agencies in our communities possess the highest integrity, character, and ethics is central to our commitment to transforming lives and strengthening communities,” said Drake University President Marty Martin. “We are pleased to advance the important work of the Josephson Exemplary Policing Initiative, which aligns with other Drake University professional development training opportunities offered to police agencies across the state of Iowa.”

The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center at Drake University is dedicated to promoting civility through character development and ethical leadership. Through public awareness and programming grounded in research, The Ray Center helps create strong, vibrant communities that value positive, healthy relationships and respectful behavior. The Ray Center’s initiatives benefit people of all ages and are easily adaptable for families, schools, workplaces, athletic teams, and organizations.
