Kurt Warner was born on June 22, 1971, in Burlington, Iowa. He played college football at the University of Northern Iowa. After going undrafted in the NFL, he played in the Arena Football League and NFL Europe. He joined the St. Louis Rams in 1998. In 1999, he became the starting quarterback and helped lead the team to a Super Bowl win. He earned NFL MVP honors twice and played in three Super Bowls. Warner also played for the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals. He helped the Cardinals reach their first Super Bowl in 2009. Warner finished his NFL career with over 32,000 passing yards. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Warner’s early life in Burlington and later time in Cedar Rapids mark his Iowa roots.
