Census Bureau: More men than women in Jefferson County in 2021

Of the 15,846 people living in Jefferson County, Iowa in 2021, 48.8% (7,730) were women and 51.2% (8,116) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by SE Iowa News.

Data showed the average age for men in Jefferson County in 2021 was 43 years, higher than the national average of 40 for men.

According to census data, men aged 18 and over outnumbered women in the same age group by 797. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 1,723 men and 1,860 women.
