Jefferson County Health Center recently issued the following announcement.

Tired of the pinching, tightness, and discomfort of your annual mammogram? Many patients are, and it’s cited as one of the biggest reasons individuals delay or forgo this vital medical screening. But what if there was a mammogram that was more comfortable, took less time, and had the potential to offer more accurate results?

Jefferson County Health Center (JCHC) has installed a new mammogram machine that will make your next screening easier, quicker, and more comfortable than ever. Our new SmartCurve™ system features a curved plate design that mimics the curve of the breast, which reduces pinching and distributes pressure more evenly across the skin. 93% of women reported increased comfort when using the SmartCurve™ system.1

When coupled with our new cutting-edge 3D mammography technology, patients will have a quicker and more comfortable scan that is more comprehensive than a traditional 2D mammography. This new system is clinically proven to detect up to 65% more cancers.2 Earlier detection and treatment are one of the greatest indicators of success in breast cancer treatment.

“We hope that our patients like the new mammography machine. It should be more comfortable for the women being screend, and our radiologists have found it easier than ever to read the high-resolution images,” said Eric Banda, Radiology Manager at JCHC
