Katie Music Appointed as City Clerk

City of Burlington recently issued the following announcement.

Mayor Jon Billups and City Manager Chad Bird are pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Music to the position of City Clerk. Mrs. Music has been the Deputy City Clerk for the City of Burlington for more than 22 years. During her tenure as Deputy Clerk Katie has achieved her Certified Municipal Clerk’s certification and been a key part of the city clerk / city manager’s offices. Katie’s appointment comes after the retirement of long time City Clerk Kathleen Salisbury.

“Katie has been a tremendous help in acclimating me to the position of city manager in Burlington and I am pleased that she will be part of the team building on Burlington’s success”, noted City Manager Chad Bird. “Katie has a wealth of knowledge not only of the City but of her profession, she has an innate sense of the right way of meeting the demands of her position”, he added.

 Mayor Billups added, “I am excited to see Katie move up to this position, she has been preparing for this role for many years. She brings a tremendous skill set to the Clerk’s office”.

 Katie began as City Clerk on Monday, January 3, 2022.
