Book You Covid-19 Vaccination Appointment Today!

Des Moines County issued the following announcement on Dec. 2.

Des Moines County Public Health is offering booster dose of Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to anyone 18 years and older.

The CDCs Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) expanded recommendations for booster shots to now include all adults ages 18 years and older who received a primary mRNA COVID-19 vaccine series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna).

In addition, ACIP updated recommendations for the groups who should receive a booster dose at least six months after completing the primary mRNA COVID-19 vaccine series (Pfizer and Moderna) to include:

  • People ages 50 and older
  • Residents ages 18 years and older in long-term care settings 
COVID-19 vaccine booster dose in persons who received a Janssen COVID-19 vaccine primary dose:

  • Persons aged ≥18 years who received primary vaccination with Janssen COVID-19 vaccine (J&J) should receive a single COVID-19 vaccine booster dose at least 2 months later.
Des Moines County Public Health offers COVID-19 vaccine and booster for anyone 18 years and older and Pfizer vaccine for anyone 12 and older,  weekly on Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM in our office at 522 North 3rd Street, Burlington.  

COVID-19 Vaccine clinics for children 5-11 years old are weekly on Thursday from 8:30 to 4:00 PM.  

Appointments for clinics can be made on the Des Moines County website and walk-ins are welcome.
