Of the 459 people living in Bonaparte in 2019, 45.5 percent (209) were women and 54.5 percent (250) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the SE Iowa News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 137-to-118. In the 65 and over age range, there were 46 females and 33 males.
