Greater Burlington Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.
The holiday season in Downtown Burlington will look a little different this year. Due to safety concerns and advice from local health and safety experts the following large gathering and close contact events have been canceled this year.

- Holiday Open House
- Holiday Lighted Window Display & Contest
- Santa’s Cottage Letter Drop Off with the opportunity for Santa to read the children’s letters on Facebook
- Holiday Shop Hops
Friday, October 23 from 5 – 8 PM
Grab your Ghoul Friends and fly over for a fun-filled evening in Downtown Burlington. Purchase your witch hat and mask to take advantage of ‘spell’tacular savings at downtown businesses. With a purchase of a ticket for $10, receive a witch’s hat, black mask, and all the spooky bling needed to cast a bewitching spell! Tickets available at Weird Harold’s or GreaterBurlington.com.
Holiday Open House
November 8 from 10 AM – 4 PM
Kick off your holiday season with a favorite event - Downtown Burlington's Holiday Open House on November 8th! Get a head start on holiday gift buying at your favorite downtown businesses during the Holiday Open House.
Holiday Lighted Window Display & Contest
Beginning November 28 – December 25
In lieu of the Downtown Holiday Parade, downtown businesses will partner with parade entries to decorate downtown windows this holiday season. Beginning November 28 through December 25 the community is invited to stroll downtown on foot or drive by in their car to vote for their favorite window display!
Santa’s Cottage Letter Drop Off with the opportunity for Santa to read the children’s letters live on Facebook
Beginning November 28 – December 21
Beginning November 28, children will have the opportunity to drop off a letter to Santa Clause at Santa’s Cottage in Downtown Burlington. Each week Santa will select a number of letters from children and read them via Facebook! You won’t want to miss the opportunity to see your child’s smile shine as they hear from Santa.

To make holiday shopping a little easier and a little more fun, your favorite downtown merchants are open late until 8 on Fridays until Christmas. Each week will feature a different holiday theme!
