City of Fairfield issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.
The City of Fairfield is accepting applications for the position of Water Meter Reader. This is a part time position based on 24 – 32 hours per week with starting pay at $17.00 per hour with up to a $1.00 per hour increase after successful completion of a six month probation and also includes IPERS retirement and a clothing allowance. Duties would include, but not limited to, reading all water meters throughout Fairfield on a flexible schedule. Applicant must be 18 years old, possess a valid Iowa driver’s license, and physically able to walk a minimum of five (5) miles a day in all weather conditions.
