MOUNT PLEASANT AREA CHAMBER: Community Fundraiser Results

Business discussion

Mount Pleasant Area Chamber issued the following announcement on May 15.

Thanks to this caring community, the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance raised $4,050 in a recent fundraiser to help local businesses!

Using the tagline “Built with Heart”, the Chamber sold Mount Pleasant t-shirts, hats, tote bags and facemasks on their website. For every item purchased, customers designated a local business to receive the proceeds from the sales. Most of the recipients were on the list of the Governor’s mandatory closures due to COVID-19.

“We want to help our businesses any way we can during these challenging times” said Kristi Ray, Executive Vice President of the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance. In addition to fundraisers, the Chamber has worked hard to keep their members informed of opportunities for financial assistance and general information concerning employment and safe practices for reopening.

On Friday, May 15 at 9:30 am, Kristi Ray delivered the largest two checks as selected by the community to Central Park Coffee Company and The Vintage Raven. The other 44 businesses receiving assistance will be sent in the mail. Thanks to the help of Anywear Apparel, Custom Impressions, Safeguard and Staats, the chamber was able to purchase all of the items locally.

The Chamber would like to thank Van Dijk Consultants, who is also a local small business, for helping to design this online shopping site.

The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance exists to improve the quality of life for Henry County residents through economic growth. The Chamber consists of 360 businesses, organizations and individual members.
