City of Burlington issued the following announcement on Nov. 25.
Burlington's bagged leaf collection end the first week of December. Friday Trash Route’s LAST DAY for leaf collection is Monday, December 2; Monday Trash Route’s LAST DAY is December 3; Tuesday Trash Route’s LAST DAY is December 4; Wednesday Trash Route’s LAST DAY is December 5; Thursday Trash Route’s LAST DAY is December 6. Leaves must be set out at the CURB by 7 a.m. in paper yard waste bags. Do not tape or staple the bags shut. Yardwaste may be disposed of at the Des Moines County Regional Landfill free of charge, year round. Yardwaste must be loose or in paper yardwaste bags; plastic bags must be emptied.
Leaf burning ends the last day of November.
