GREATER BURLINGTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Greater Burlington Partnership Government Relations Committee Hosting Three 2019 Candidate Forums

Greater Burlington Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 15. 

The Greater Burlington Partnership Government Relations Committee will be hosting three candidate forums for the 2019 elections. Candidates running for Burlington School District School Board, City of Burlington City Council, and West Burlington School District School Board will address questions asked by representatives of the Greater Burlington Partnership’s Government Relations committee.

The Burlington School District School Board forum will be held Monday, October 21 from 5 – 6:30 PM at the district office, 1429 West Avenue, Burlington.  Candidates running for four seats are Bryan Bross, Angela Gordon, Deborah Hatteberg, Nancy Hoelzen, John Jay, Anika McVay, Joel Sieren, and Keith Douglas Turrill. The forum is open to the public.

The City of Burlington City Council forum will be held Tuesday, October 22 from 5 – 6: 30 PM at Burlington City Hall, 400 Washington, Burlington.  Candidates running for two seats are Robert Critser, Bill Maupin, and Christopher Roepke.  The forum is open to the public.

The West Burlington School District School Board forum will be held Wednesday, Oct 30 from 5 – 6:30 PM at the West Burlington City Hall, 122 Broadway St., West Burlington.  Candidates running for three seats are Andrea Bowen, Michael Davis, and Dan Hockett.  The forum is open to the public.

“Hosting public forums is an important part of the election processes.  They are an excellent platform for our Chamber of Commerce Members and the voting public to get to know the candidates and where they stand on the issues before casting their ballots.” said Rachel Lindeen, Event Coordinator for the Greater Burlington Partnership.

Forums will be moderated by representatives of the Greater Burlington Partnership Government Relations Committee. All questions will be selected ahead of time by the Government Relations Committee.
